In April of 2006 travelers Karen Catchpole (writer) and Eric Mohl (photographer) left their jobs and apartment in New York City and embarked on the Trans-Americas Journey, a 200,000 mile cross-country and cross-continental overland drive down the Pan-American Highway. Their ongoing working road trip is an exploration of the byways and back roads of North America, Central America and South America and a search for the people, places and things that make every place special—a true Pan-American overland adventure from the Arctic to Tierra del Fuego and everything in between.

Check out Karen’s Travel Journals and Eric’s Photo Galleries for exclusive stories and travel photography from the early days of the Trans-Americas Journey. Follow all the latest and greatest adventures on our TRAVEL BLOG.
