Panic. We were all set up to shoot the total lunar eclipse in the dark skies above Chichicastenango, Guatemala. However, when the appointed hours arrived clouds rolled in. At just after midnight there was no moon to be seen. Thankfully, two hours later the clouds disappeared revealing the total eclipse in all its glory. We watched and photographed the sky show until 4 am when the moon slowly (magically) became whole again. The following photo composite documents the eclipse in reverse from a nearly full moon to the orange total eclipse.
