We’re striving to make the Trans-Americas Journey as carbon-neutral as possible. That’s why we’re offsetting 1,000 pounds of CO2 each month through Terrapass. That’s the equivalent of 45 gallons of diesel per month, according to data from the US Energy Administration. Terapass uses green credits like ours to support environmental projects. For example, our offsets will enable the planting of 23 trees per month. We began purchasing carbon offsets in 2007, when we offset 28.5 tons of carbon.
And there’s more! If we can add Patreon members who support our Trans-Americas Journey, we’ll be able to increase our offset to 2,000 pounds of CO2 per month. That’s 46 trees!
